Fitness Goals

My goal is to be able to run for 30 minutes nonstop on the treadmill and be at least 50 to 60 lbs lighter by November of 2008, hopefully sooner (in time for my trip to Ecuador in July). I’ve had to adjust this again. Still working on it. I want to be trim and svelte for my graduation in May of 2009. I don’t think my goals are unrealistic, I just need to be able to stick to them. I’m going to try baby steps by breaking the main goal into these mini-goals first.

  1. Goal 1: Get to the gym and do at least 30-45 minutes of cardiovascular work at least 6 days a week until January 1st. Not quite met, but close. Finally met!
    1. Keep an ongoing record of time spent in the gym as well as calories burnt and pounds/inches lost. (more concerned about inches lost than pounds, but pounds are sometimes easier to keep track of.) I’ve kept a steady 275 lbs (am now down to 260) since I started this page back in October. Lost approximately 1″ off my waist.
    2. Re-evaluate logistics of goals. Done, see my post Return to Sweat and Pain for details!
  2. Goal 2: May, 2008
    1. Nearing half of my 60 pound goal.
  3. Goal 3: July, 2008
    1. Be in Ecuador enjoying the beach (the three S’s: Surf, Sand, and SeƱoritas!)
  4. I’ve had to re-vamp nearly all my goals. My Ecuador trip was canceled and so I drove out to the West coast instead.
  5. Goal 4: November, 2008.
    1. Have lost 50 to 60 pounds.

I will be revamping these as time goes by, but I wanted to get them down to see the general picture.
